Course Aims/Objectives

  • Understanding the “normal” components required for executive functioning

  • Understanding how the executive functions relate to perception and cognition

  • Relating knowledge of neuroanatomy and neuropsychology to functional impairment

  • Understanding the specific role of the OT in the assessment and treatment of dysexecutive function

  • Becoming aware of the application of different treatment methodologies and intervention strategies

  • Obtaining a starting point in planning, early, middle and late stages of treatment by the use of functional activities and intervention strategies
